POSH Reimagined Workshop: A Collaboration between NCW, Inclusional, and SJIM
“National Commission of Women, Inclusional, and SJIM recently teamed up for a workshop on creating safer workplaces, "POSH Reimagined," uniting experts to discuss sexual harassment prevention and inclusion in the workplace. The workshop was spearheaded by three passionate speakers, including Priyanka Agarwal, Head of Inclusion, Jayati Doshi, Head of Culture Consulting, and Nazia Memon, Assistant Professor at SJIM specializing in diversity and inclusion.

AICTE ATAL Sponsored National Level FDP on ‘Digital Supply Chain for Operational Excellence’ from
15th - 25th November 2022

An AICTE ATAL Sponsored National Level FDP on "Digital Supply Chain for Operational Excellence" was organised from 15th - 25th November 2022. Fifty faculty members from various parts of the country attended the program. The scheduled fourteen sessions were structured to facilitate up-gradation of knowledge and skills on the niche areas of industry 4.0,

St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) organizes several development programs to cultivate management-related skills among a variety of participants. Under the broad umbrella of MDPs, we conduct programs for management skill development, leadership skill development, executive skill development, and research skill development. The audience for our programs include managers, students, educators, researchers, personnel from public services, and many more.

All programs are run under the guidance of excellent resource persons that include SJIM faculty who have doctorates from IIMs and IITs, and external resources persons who have a vast experience in conducting such programs across industries. At the end of all programs, participants are awarded certificates.

The aim of this program is to share, develop and strengthen leadership skills that can help to make one’s pastoral ministry more effective. We have designed the sessions to cover management principles that will best help in pastoral ministries. During the sessions, we use introspective exercises to help you understand each of your own unique contexts. Then, we introduce some of the world’s best management tools, and we will show you simple ways in which you can apply these tools in your specific contexts. It is our hope that through this pedagogy, we can give you a realistic guide, from a management perspective, for how you can be more effective in your unique pastoral ministries.

St. Joseph’s Institute of Management is ranked in the top 100 management schools in India in the NIRF rankings 2018, which is an objective and therefore unbiased ranking of colleges conducted by the Govt. of India. St. Joseph’s Institute of Management is the only Catholic management school in Karnataka in the NIRF rankings.

Dr. Caren Rodrigues and Dr. Anup Krishnamurthy,in their capacity as researchers and based on their publications in reputed journals, have been invited to conduct PDWsat the prestigious Academy of Management (AoM) and its affiliates, namely, the Eastern Academy of Management (EAM) and the Western Academy of Management (WAM). The Academy of Management, USA, is the mother body of management scholars across the world. The EAM and WAM supplement theAoM’s activities through advancement of management theory, research, education, and practice. These PDWs were attended by scholars from across the world.

• 09 August 2022: PDW at the AoM titled “Laddering: Using Means-end Chains to Discover Shared Motivations of a Group”
• 19 May 2021: PDW at the EAM titled “The Laddering Technique: Uncovering Shared Motivations Among Group Members”
• 22 April 2021: PDW at the WAM titled “Paper Writing Workshop for Early Career Researchers: Effective Theoretical Background, Hypothesis Development and Discussion Sections”


This program is conducted by international faculty specialized in Design Thinking and Innovation. It introduces participants to the core principles of human-centered design and its application to organizational leadership and innovation. Some of the outcomes that participants can expect from this program include: (i) Inculcate a forward-thinking, human-centered approach to problem-solving, (ii) Break limiting mental models to discover lean and client oriented approaches to innovation, (iii) Work on practical cases to apply concepts of design thinking to provide creative solutions, and (iv) Equip participants with a toolkit to apply design thinking to their own organizational contexts.

This program aims to share, develop and strengthen the leadership skills that can help to make an educationist more effective. A good mix of lectures, activities and simulations are used as a part of this program. The participants for this program can be from faculty members from any discipline and any level of education (i.e., high-schools, pre-university colleges, under-graduate colleges or post-graduate colleges).

The objective of this program is to develop and strengthen leadership skills among student leaders. Through this objective it is expected that students can become better future leaders, who can lead themselves and others in a responsible, effective and ethical manner. The participants for this workshop can be from high-schools, pre-university colleges, under-graduate colleges or even post-graduate colleges.

This program aims to share management and leadership frameworks to help officers of the Indian Defense Forces become more effective in their organizational and team-building endeavors. This objective is achieved through a mixed pedagogy of lectures, activities and simulations. All sessions will be interactive in nature in order to facilitate easy discussion.

Proposed Duration: 1 day or two half-days
Venue: SJIM or location chosen by the Defense Force

In the world today, academicians are being called upon to do more than just teach students. They are expected to contribute to the body of knowledge in their respective fields. In order to do so, academicians need to start conducting research. While the topic of research might vary among the different fields in the social sciences, the process of conducting research remains the same. Therefore, the objective of this workshop is to give academicians in the social sciences some insights into the correct process of research, which will hopefully lead to top quality research outputs.

Proposed Duration: usually one day, but can be extended up to a week depending on the depth of knowledge required

The SERVE Leadership Transformation model is aimed at all those in leadership positions as well as for those aspiring to be leaders. This model inspired management guru Ken Blanchard to co-author “THE SECRET” based on the Chick-fil-A corporate culture. It has been tested with tremendous results for over 40 years at Chick-fil-A, which has been incredibly successful in the service industry with almost $8 billion in sales. It introduces the participant to the following potential impacts of leadership: (i) Create organization-wide vision and learn a new language of leadership, (ii) Understand behaviors and attitudes that great leaders demonstrate, (iii) Improve the level of employee engagement and productivity, (iv) Support a culture that embraces innovation and change, and (v) Balance driving of results with promotion of relationships based on trust.

This program is designed to meet mandatory or ongoing training needs of public services personnel like the police force. This program will equip participants with the tools they need to sharpen their human and cognitive skills. This program can be undertaken either for a batch of officers or a batch of non-officers. The content and pedagogy will vary depending on the hierarchal level of personnel attending the program.

Proposed Duration: 1 day
Venue: SJIM
Registration kit, lunch and snacks are included in the registration fee. Resource persons who are fluent in Kannada will also be present.


This program is designed to equip public services personnel with management skills. This 3-month program will introduce participants to core management subjects and their applications in the context of their public service jobs. This program can be undertaken either for a batch of officers or a batch of non-officers from a specific organization. Personnel in line for promotion to higher levels will benefit the best from this program.

Proposed Duration: 3 months (1.5 hours per week)

This program is designed to equip retiring public services personnel with management skills. This 6-month program will introduce participants to core management subjects in order that they “up-skill” to meet the needs of the industry. This program can be undertaken either for a batch of officers or a batch of non-officers from a specific organization. Retiring personnel who will be looking for new managerial jobs will benefit the best from this program.

Proposed Duration: 6 months (1.5 hours per week)
