On 26th November 2022, SJIM conducted a one-day Faculty Development Program that was open to faculty members, researchers and doctoral students from business, management, commerce and educations domains.The program directors, who have doctorates from IIM Bangalore and Wharton School (USA), brought high-quality ideas and methods into this program through simple, easy-to-grasp pedagogy. This workshop was structured to engender learning through gamification.

The underlying perspective was that we learn better when we enjoy something.The program was run through individual and group-based exercises to help participants to hone their research and publication skills. There was also gamification of these exercises with prizes that were won by the participants. Dr. Anup Krishnamurthy, Dr. Caren Rodrigues, Rev. Dr. Oswald Mascarenhas SJ animated the four different sessions of this workshop. The areas covered in the workshop included case-based research writing, building arguments for the literature review, writing a conceptual paper, and positioning a paper. The participants appreciated the content of the workshop, the unique pedagogy used, and the interaction with the resource persons.
