Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) MDP Seminar at SJIM

The two-day - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) MDP was a great success at St Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM), thanks to the active participation of 16 professionals hailing from esteemed organizations such as Titan, Widas, Puma, Gokuldas Exports, Codeparva, ITC, and others. The MDP addressed critical DEI challenges in the workplace and empower participants with strategies to foster an inclusive and equitable work environment.

Ms. Tina Vinod, the founder of Diversity Simplified with an extensive work experience in the DEI space was the anchor resource person. Her extensive knowledge and experience in DEI issues enriched the seminar's content and discussions. Her insights provided a solid foundation for the seminar's objectives. Nazia Memon, SJIM faculty member was also the resource person in the MDP.

The seminar achieved a commendable level of diversity, mirroring the core values it aimed to promote. Participants from various industries and backgrounds came together, fostering cross- industry learning and networking opportunities. Throughout the two days, the seminar featured interactive sessions, group discussions, and case studies that encouraged active engagement among participants. The open dialogues and sharing of best practices enriched the learning experience. The seminar emphasized practical tools and techniques that can be applied within participants' respective organizations. Attendees left with actionable insights to implement DEI strategies within their workplaces. In addition to the informative sessions, participants had the opportunity to network and build connections with peers from different organizations, paving the way for potential collaborations and knowledge-sharing.

Dr Nazia Memon designed a 50 page handout booklet to the participants which comprised of relevant articles and DEI design and implementation content.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion MDP demonstrated the growing importance of DEI initiatives in today's corporate landscape. The event was a testament to the commitment of organizations to promote diversity and inclusion. Ms. Tina Vinod’s expertise and guidance were instrumental in making this seminar a success. The event not only educated and inspired but also paved the way for future initiatives that will continue to advance DEI efforts within participating organizations. SJIM being known for its diversity and inclusivity, looks forward to future collaborations and initiatives aimed at fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace for all.
