Dr A. Anantharaman is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA and AMP (Advanced Management Program) of the Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
He has over 40 years of Professional experience (both operational and academic) with leading multinational companies and educational Institutions in the four major continents- Asia, Europe, Africa and America.
He started his career with the Unilever group in India and has subsequently served in several senior positions as CEO with Multinational corporations. Some of these are, As chief of operations with English Electric company of india for 13 years, As Head of Corporate Panning with Carborundum company of India for 5 years and As Group Managing Director for the African and American operations of Comcraft services Ltd for 20 years ,in charge of their operations and expansions-more importantly ,expansions - in Africa and America.
As Professor of Strategy, Innovation and General Management, he has taught at the Harvard Business School and the Lubin School of Business in the USA, INSEAD in France and at several other prestigious international schools of Business in Europe and Asia.
He has also served as a UNIDO Expert and an Advisor to several West African Governments on Industrial Policy.
He has taught and is also currently teaching Corporate Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Leadership Styles, Mergers - Acquisitions and Restructuring, and Management Control Systems. He has served in the Board of several corporations in India, Europe and the USA and has advisedcorporations on Strategy, Succession Planning, Business Reengineering and several other specific General Management areas.
As Professor,he has also guided the research of several Doctoral and Postdoctoral students on Turnaround Strategies, Inclusive Growth, Shared Value, Microfinance, and Strategies for companies in Developing Nations and Business-Government-Society Interface Models.
He has also conducted Workshops on Case Study Method of Teaching at several Business schools in India and abroad. He has also been Chief Resource person at several Management Training Programs, in Europe, America, and Asia.
As Provost, he was the Chief Academic officer of the Multicampus XIME (Xavier) group of Institutions. He also serves in the Academic Councils and Governing Boards of several Management Schools in India and abroad.
