Guest lecture was conducted for Operations domain on 15th Feb, 2023 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. Chief guest Dr. M Rajesh, Associate Professor in the department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore, has taken a lecture on “Work-study and Ergonomics.”
The speaker explained the various concepts related to Productivity:
1. Understanding the Productivity Curve to analyze the utilization of resources and performance of an organization.
2. How the work-study impacts the efficiency of a business, by maximizing value-added activity and minimizing non-value added activity in a process.
3. Understanding the various types of Ergonomics to enhance productivity.
4. Ergonomics through a man-machine system aiming to impact the system's perfection and improve human efficiency.

He also shared some of his Research works which addressed physical issues of operators by providing ergonomically designed products as a solution. The lecture concluded with answering some interesting questions asked by the students. The session was really informative as it highlighted all the aspects of increasing productivity by considering various factors in an internal as well as external environment.
