Inauguration of Academic Year 2020 – 2022


The inaugural ceremony for the year 2020-21 began by the invocation song played virtually by the college choir, followed by the readings from the Holy Books of different religions.

After which Rev Dr. Fr. Manoj D’souza SJ the director of the college addressed the gathering. He welcomed the Chief Guest of the day Lt. General Dr. S. Lakshmi Narasimhan (Retd), Dean Dr. R Narasimhan, faculties, non-teaching staff, parents and all the first years.

He spoke about Jesuit education and its salient characteristics; he also introduced the new members of the faculty. He explained how the institute was adapting to the changing requirements of education, without compromising the value and quality of the lectures.

The chief guest Lt. General Dr. S. Lakshmi Narasimhan (Retd) shared his nuggets of wisdom from a career spanning over 3 decades with the Indian Army. He spoke about the importance of leading a life with integrity, how vital it is to build capabilities and look out for opportunities even during your difficult times. The crucial role of communication and how crucial it is to be a team player.

After the Chief Guest’s address, it was time for the students form the incoming batch to share their aspirations and expectations.
