On 26th July 2025, the Loyola Auditorium at St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) came alive with colour, music, and energy as the much-awaited Freshers’ Day 2025 unfolded in grand Bollywood style.
Organised by the senior students, the event warmly welcomed the new cohort from 19 different states, blending cultural diversity with SJIM’s spirit of unity. The celebration began with an inspiring address by Rev. Dr.Roshan David Pereira SJ, Director of SJIM, who encouraged teamwork, involvement, and a spirit of healthy competition.
The afternoon featured a variety of competitions — reel-making, short films, inter-class singing, and energetic dance battles — each showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of the first-year classes. The Mr. & Ms. Freshers contest added glamour and charm, with Mr. Nohaan R and Ms. Aparna Sahu winning the coveted titles through their poise and thoughtful responses.
A surprise high-energy dance performance by the seniors and special goodies for the freshers added to the joy. The celebrations reached their peak when Section A was declared Overall Champions of the day.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Ms. Patricia Sherin Sj, Cultural Secretary, followed by an open dance floor — a perfect ending to an unforgettable afternoon.
Freshers’ Day 2025 was not just a competition; it was the beginning of new friendships, shared memories, and an exciting journey for the newest members of the SJIM family.
