21st June 2025
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, St Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM) conducted a serene and energising yoga session on 21st June, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The event provided students, faculty, and staff with a much-needed pause from their routine to focus on mental clarity and physical well-being.
The session was conducted by Dr. Jennifer Joseph, a Licensed Physiotherapist and Certified Yoga Instructor. With her unique intersection of science and tradition—of anatomy and awareness—Dr. Jennifer offered a distinctive approach to wellness that restores balance in both mind and body.
The session began with a short prayer, followed by calming Pranayama (breathing exercises) and dynamic Suryanamaskara (Sun Salutations). Participants then engaged in warm-up stretches and a sequence of yoga postures including the Tree Pose (Vrikshasana)—a highlight that tested balance and concentration.
Guided by Dr. Jennifer, the session fostered mindfulness, posture alignment, and inner peace. The session concluded with a closing prayer, leaving everyone refreshed and inspired to continue their wellness journey.
The event highlighted SJIM’s commitment to holistic development, reminding the community of the importance of caring for the body and mind.
