SJIM Students Gain Hands-on Experience at Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2023

Few of SJIM students went through hands-on experience at the recently concluded Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023. The first year PGDM students Alfred S and Tasmiya Faiza volunteered at the “Neofysis Biotech Pvt Ltd” stall. Mr. P.K. Faisal, the founder and CEO of Neofysis, whose new product “Biotraptor” (kills only mosquitos) has been making a buzz in startup industry. He is a very close collaborator of SJIM, making himself available to guest lectures at the business school.

Alfred says “being volunteer at the Neofysis stall taught me nitty-gritties of what goes into building a business and making a brand. From setting up of the stall to getting to know the product, talking to people and making them understand the product - the marketing part and the strategies associated are all among the few learnings out of the many I got in just those 3 days.”

Tasmiya Faiza says, “it was an enriching and exhilarating experience. Engaging with high-level individuals provided a unique insight into the industry's dynamics. The exposure to various marketing techniques was invaluable, offering practical knowledge and hands-on experience. We set up the stall and gave a detailed explanation about the product to the delegates and people visiting the event. We got to learn how to engage with potential customers, creating brand awareness, and driving sales on the spot.”

Further Alfred said, “it provided me with an opportunity to interact with the people from the industry and share perspectives and ideas. I also got to see new start-ups who had displayed their products.”
