SJIM Celebrates 80th Independence Day

St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM), Bengaluru, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with patriotism, enthusiasm and a strong sense of community. The celebration began with the flag-hoisting ceremony in the presence of students, faculty and staff.

The occasion was honoured by Group Captain Dr. Pooja Gupta of the Indian Air Force as the Chief Guest. Her presence inspired the SJIM community with the values of courage, discipline, dedication and service to the nation.

Rev Dr Roshan David Pereira, SJ, Director, SJIM, and Dr. Rajiv Narohna, Dean, SJIM, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of responsible citizenship, integrity, unity, equality and service.

The celebrations also included a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Adding a spirit of social responsibility, the SJIM CSR Club spent the day with students of Austin Town BBMP Boys & Girls High School, celebrating freedom through togetherness and community engagement.

The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to the values of unity, integrity, courage and service, reminding us that freedom is not only a privilege but also a responsibility.
