St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM), Bengaluru, commemorated the 77th Republic
Day of India on 26 January 2026 with great solemnity and patriotic fervour at the institute’s
Basketball Court. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty
members, and staff, reflecting SJIM’s commitment to national values and civic responsibility
The celebration commenced at 8:30 a.m. with the unfurling of the Indian Tricolour by
Rev.Fr. Prashanth Wesly D’Souza SJ , Finance Officer of SJIM, followed by the National
Anthem, creating a moment of pride and unity. This was followed by an inspiring address
highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution, the responsibilities of citizens, and
the vital role of youth in nation-building
Adding a cultural dimension, a patriotic singing performance by College Choir captivated
the audience, evoking themes of unity, sacrifice, and national pride. The celebration
concluded with a common breakfast, fostering togetherness and camaraderie among the SJIM
community
The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jessy Nair, Faculty Coordinator, and
Mr. Rahulgouda Patil, General Secretary. The programme was efficiently led by the Junior
Coordinators, Mr. Tushar Jadhav and Ms. Merlin Robin, who also served as the Masters
of Ceremony, ensuring a smooth and well-organized flow of events.
The event successfully reinforced respect for India’s democratic ideals and pride in the
nation’s rich heritage, making the occasion both meaningful and memorable.
