Independence Day Celebration at SJIM


St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India on 15th August 2025 with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on campus.

The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony and the singing of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. Students presented a soulful patriotic group song setting a vibrant tone for the morning.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Chief Guest, Dr. Brigadier K. Ravi Shankar VSM, whose distinguished service in the Indian Armed Forces inspired the gathering. He was welcomed and felicitated by Rev. Dr. Roshan David Pereira SJ, Director of SJIM. In his address, Dr. Ravi Shankar emphasized the value of freedom, discipline, and service to the nation, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

The occasion also marked the official launch of the EdX Program, an initiative spearheaded by the Director to provide academic support for students pursuing courses from reputed global universities and organizations.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Tushar Jadhav, a group photograph, and a community breakfast, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism.
