SJIM celebrates 26th Convocation Day; 170 students awarded Post Graduate Diplomas in Management


St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) proudly celebrated its 26th Convocation Day on 13thMay 2023.
Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vaz SJ, Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province and Chairman of SJIM’s Governing Council, awarded one hundred seventy students their Post Graduate Diplomas in Management (PGDM). In his subsequent Presidential Address, he reminded the outgoing students of the Jesuit pillars of education that they have been equipped with, especially social concern.

Mr. Romal Shetty, CEO of Deloitte South Asia, delivered the Convocation Address. He imparted several valuable pieces of advice to the students: to embrace mundane tasks with a positive attitude, to pursue excellence and develop resilience, to engage in lifelong skill development, to make oneself invaluable to the organization and to make a difference to society through their profession. Finally,he reminded them that success requires hard work, and lots of it.

In the past year, SJIM has continued to reach greater heights. As SJIM Director,Dr. Manoj D’Souza SJ, pointed out in his Annual Report, this year, SJIM has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Indian government-authorized Association of Indian Universities (AIU) also recognized SJIM’s PGDM program as equivalent to an MBA. In addition, SJIM is ranked among the top business schools in the Ministry of Education’s NIRF rankings 2022-23.
