21st Convocation at SJIM Bangalore


St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) Bangalore held its twenty-first annual convocation on 7th April 2018. Mr. Kamal Bali, Managing Director of Volvo India Private Limited was chief guest. The meeting was presided over by Rev. Dr. Stanislaus D’Souza S.J., Chairman of SJIM’s governing council, who conferred the post graduate diplomas in management on 118 graduate students. Rev. Fr. Manoj D’Souza S.J., Director SJIM, presented the Annual Report.

Delivering the convocation address, Mr. Kamal Bali pointed out that the students were entering a business environment characterized by increased digitization and rapid technological change and emphasized the importance of inclusiveness and sustainable development. He concluded with ten practices graduates can employ for successful careers.

SJIM is run by the Jesuit fathers, who manage several reputed business schools in India and abroad. Rev. Dr. Stanislaus D’Souza S.J., provincial, Karnataka Jesuit Province, reminded the graduates that they should implement the Jesuit mandate of reconciliation with God, with others and with creation in the businesses they will lead. The Rector Fr. Anthony Joseph S.J. distributed the medals for academic excellence. The batch toppers this year were Ms. Jasmine Dennis, Ms. Varsha Devi and Ms. Rachel Clare Menezes.

SJIM is among the top three business schools in Bangalore in the 2018 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) list of management institutes.
